We live in an age of cascading disruptions.
Geopolitical instability is rising, conflicts are spreading, societies are fragmenting, and technological upheavals are reshaping entire industries overnight. Trust in institutions is eroding, and with it, the foundations of collective coherence.
And yet, in leadership and coaching circles, one mantra dominates:
- Everyone must be heard.
- Every perspective validated.
- Every feeling given space.
๐๐ญ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ญ๐. Progressive. Almost sacred.
But in the face of systemic crises, it is not leadership. ๐๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐.
๐๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ is not group therapy. It is not the endless accommodation of every perspective. It ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ - knowing what matters most, which voices carry real expertise, and where energy must be directed with clarity and speed.
We know from decision science: groups that try to hear everyone equally often paralyze themselves. They circle around familiar views while missing critical signals. High-performing, high-reliability systems - from aviation to surgery - donโt run on consensus. They run on deference to expertise and commitment to resilience.
This obsession with inclusion reflects something real in ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ. It is not regression. It marks the ๐๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ ๐: the discovery of individuality, the relativizing of truth, the insistence that all perspectives matter. A necessary passage - but not the destination.
From the vantage point of the ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ ๐, inclusion is recontextualized. That is not cruelty. It is clarity. And ๐๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ, ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐ก๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐.
For this shift, ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ง๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ - coaches and consultants who themselves hold complexity without being trapped in relativism.
So I ask you:
- Are you able to move beyond the Cult of Inclusion - to lead in a way that is neither authoritarian per ordre du mufti nor naรฏvely grassroots, but grounded in systemic responsibility and clear discernment?
- And do you have advisors who challenge you from that higher vantage point, or merely reinforce your comfort zone?
